STILL IN TRANSLATION | OPENING APRIL 17

Still in Translation brings together nine artists living and working in Israel whose practices engage with questions of identity, cultural hybridity, and migration. Moving between geographies, visual languages, and personal journeys, the exhibition approaches identity not as a fixed origin but as an ongoing process — continuously shaped through memory, movement, and adaptation.

The works present fragmented figures, erasure, and layered compositions that reflect a notion of identity in transition. Forms appear partially dismantled and reassembled, suggesting a condition of constant translation in which absence and reconstruction coexist.

For some, diasporic identity emerges as a simultaneous state of separation and accumulation. Organic elements such as flowers, stones, and foliage form an architecture of memory, evoking what is carried across borders — language, rituals, sensibilities, and sensory traces.
